Teacher Course Evaluation system
has been developed by and has served the University Of Arizona for more than 15 years,
and has become one of the most advanced TCE systems in US.
It produces results and reports faster then any existing TCE systems and
publishes them online for students, faculty,
departments, and administration.
The source code of the TCE system consists of more than 400 VB.NET 3.5
and ASP.NET 3.5 program files, about 20 MB total in size, and MS SQL Server
2005 database, which includes more than 200 tables, 400
stored-procedures, and 200 functions. It produces more than 800,000
overall statistical comparison reports yearly for UA. It is capable to
administer paper and online TCEs. It provides faculty and departments a possibility
to customize their TCE questionnaires online in order to get more detail feedback from
students. TCE reports help faculty to improve their teaching, students to
enroll in good classes, and departments in their Promotion&Tenure decisions. It lets
departments correct the teaching load information and order
the TCEs online.
Implementation of the TCE system for client University/Institution needed some
adjustment and customization by professional software developers with knowledge
of .NET programming and use of Visual Studio.NET 2008 with MS SQL Server
professional edition. Consultations for the programmer are available on pre-paid
basis.
Customization of provided source code by software
programmer would include:
1. TCE Input Systems:
Input course sections data from the central University systems - should be
customized by client's programmer to query their institution database.
TL and TCE Data Collection for contacts, TCE Customization for departments and
for faculty, TCE Online for students - login authentication and authorization
procedures should be customized.
2. TCE Output Systems:
TCE Department reports, TCE Faculty Reports, TCE Students reports, TCE Dean
Reports- login authentication and authorization procedures should be customized.
